Most Endorsements Are Out… Time to Vote

The state’s newspapers have weighed in on primary races affecting us here in Tampa Bay. Some of the interesting statistics involve the state-wide races:

• Charlie Crist swept all endorsements. Gallagher received zero.
• Rod Smith took more nominations than Jim Davis, including all three South Floirda papers.
• Leroy Collins received the most endorsements for the US Senate nomination; Kathering Harris’ hometown paper endorsed no one.
• Randy Johnson managed to steal three endorsements from media darling Tom Lee, including the Florida Times Union (Florida’s most conservative newspaper).

To view the list of endorsements, you can check out my updated post. Once you have done that, you can check out the lists of candidates websites: O’Blog has a list for statewide and state legislative candidates, I have a list for Tampa Bay county commission and school board candidates.

Once you have researched the candidates, remember you don’t have to wait until September 5th to vote. Early voting locations are open in all counties.

Check back for State of Sunshine predictions later this week, and an analysis of the results on September 5th.
