Creative Loafing Awards Ceremony

Last night I had the privilege of attending the award ceremony for the 2006 Creative Loafing Best of the Bay Awards. Wayne Garcia (a.k.a. PoHo) presented me with his staff pick for Best New Political Blog, and said some kind words about this blog.

I was a little nervous accepting the award in a room filled with so many talented, creative people. If you haven’t seen the list of the Best of the Bay, I strongly urge you to read through it and try to support my fellow winners.

Whether you’re looking for a great place to eat or see a show, or want to find something new and unusual to do in Tampa Bays arts community, the Best of the Bay is a great place to start.

After hearing the acceptance speeches from those in attendance, I can see that I have been missing out on a lot of great places. So my goal for this year is to visit as many award winners as possible, and learn more about this vibrant community I call home.

Thank you, again, Wayne for the award and the kudos last night.
Oh, and to my readers — if you’re not reading Wayne’s blog – Blurbex – you should. Add his feed to your reader, and check out his column every week in Creative Loafing.
