A friend who blogs

My friend, Lorraine Harbert, has a blog: waitingformaddie. It’s a diary format, talking about the ongoings in her life. She started it when she and her husband Matt started the process of adopting a baby from China (Maddie), and a lot of the posts talk about that topic.

However, in her latest post, she gave me some kudos and I wanted to thank her.

She and her mother-in-law, Carolyn Harbert, are partners in Oh Miss Concierge, a personal assistant service. A little about what they do:

Why use a Concierge Service?

Dual income families/single parents.
With dual income families, raising children, and leading hectic lives, time becomes a precious commodity as more of us try to fit 36 hours into a 24 hour day. In the 21st century it is difficult to say whose career is more important or which partner should take time off from work to wait for the delivery, run an errand or wait for the ‘cable guy’. That decision process can put a strain on any relationship. OHMISS Concierge can help!

Referrals.
It is hard to find good reliable help. OHMISS will refer you to trades people. We use a complex screening process and have reputable vendors. We can help you get the pictures hung, the walls painted, the yards landscaped and the pool cleaner hired. We will arrange for you to get the job done or get bids for larger ones.

Travel/ticket service.
It is time consuming to check the Internet for low priced travel or concert/event tickets. OHMISS can save you time and purchase the tickets for you.

Oh, and they have a blog too, so check them out … and tell ’em I sent ya!

In any event, waitingformaddie is fun to read … and a nice change of pace from the political stuff I read a lot. Plus its fun to keep up with how she and Matt are doing.

Oh, and Matt and I are both in the Bull Backers… a fan-based organization dedicated to supporting the University of South Florida athletic programs.
