The State of the State of Sunshine

My loyal readers… allow me to apologize.

It has been more than a month since I posted here.

There are quite a few things that have kept me away.

1. New job. Last month, I left Affari Edge on a full-time basis to work for Intelladon. It has been challenging, and the new gig is quite a bit more hectic than the old one. I’m still adjusting to the pace and schedule. As luck would have it, the new gig is with fellow State of Sunshine contributor Darren Shields (which is why he hasn’t had time to post either).

2. USF Football. Yes, perhaps some of you have noticed that my alma mater, the University of South Florida Bulls are now the number 2 team in the country. It has been a lot of fun. I am a season ticket holder and have gone to two road trips: Auburn and Florida Atlantic.

I am also a volunteer “administrator” for The Bulls Pen, a message board that talks about USF athletics. The site has seen a significant increase in traffic, and I’ve spent quite a few nights helping to make sure the site stays up. If you’re into USF, or want to talk about the Bulls, surf over and look for me there.

Finally, with USF I am Chair of the USF Alumni Association Tampa Chapter and also server as Homecoming Chair. So I’ve had quite a few things to do with the Alumni Association.

3. Lack of Interest. I know, I know. Special sessions have come and gone. The presidential election is growing closer. Property taxes are still a hot button issue. Well, I haven’t had time (see #1) to read a lot of news and nothing has really jumped out at me. I hit “political writers block” in a big way.

Bruce Cotton has also been busy with his second campaign for State Representative. Hopefully I can talk him in to posting a little more, but I understand his need to focus on his family, job, and campaign.

So, I expect to get back to posting a little more often here. Until then, read some of my friends at GOP News, PEER Review and others.

And thank you for your patience!!

Hey Jim, shoot me an email about lunch. I’m heading to Presidency 4 this weekend and should have some insights to write about after.
