Tim Russert Dies at Age 58

The news is breaking this afternoon, that Tim Russert, host of NBC’s Meet the Press, died of a heart attack today at age 58.

My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends, as well as all of his fans.

Personally, I will miss him the way I knew him, as a great moderator and interviewer. He prepared in detail for each interview, and showed his skills both on Meet the Press as well as hosting many debates during election years — especially here in Florida. Like Tim, I grew up in Upstate New York, so I had a different appreciation when we would sprinkle in stories from Buffalo.

The next host of Meet the Press will have big shoes to fill. Tim will be succeeded, but can not be replaced.

God rest and keep you, Tim. And Go Bills.
