Lakeland Ledger reports: McKeel won’t run for Congress
January 29, 2009 | Leave a Comment
In an interesting turn of events, it seems State Representative Seth McKeel likely won’t be running for Congress. McKeel was among those publicly considering running for Congressman Adam Putnam’s seat when (if?) Congressman Putnam announces his bid for Commissioner of Agriculture.
According to the Ledger:
At least one person looking at the race and a [...]

Stimulus delayed is just government spending
January 20, 2009 | 1 Comment
To paraphrase Jim Lowell: Washington, we have a problem.

(My post from 2007 has the full text and an audio clip.) This speech was [...]

The Senate Race and the I-4 Cooridor
January 18, 2009 | 2 Comments
When Senator Mel Martinez announced last fall that he would not seek re-election, a firestorm rolled through Florida political circles. Any politician with even a bit of a name, or an ego that thinks there is a name, has to consider running. After all, how often does an open seat in the nation’s [...]

Obama and Lincoln - A comparison
January 17, 2009 | Leave a Comment
Among my many “friends” on Facebook is Sharon Day, Florida’s state Republican Committeewoman. Tonight her status made my think: Sharon Day is wondering what alternative planet she is on when Obama who has never done anything compares himself to Abraham Lincoln.
Okay, let’s briefly consider the political experience these two sons of Illinois:
Both are lawyers.
Both [...]

Crist Would Not Need Hagan ‘Deal’
January 16, 2009 | Leave a Comment
First, let me say at the outset that I used to work for State Senator Victor Crist, and I consider him a friend. That said, I wanted to take a second to comment on a story that has appeared on the Political Whore.
Earlier this month, Wayne Garcia posted his thoughts about the 2010 campaign, [...]
