UPDATE: Kriseman will not run for Mayor

Last week, Peter Schorsch Posted the CW was State Representative Rick Kriseman would be staying in his seat, not running for Mayor of St. Petersburg.

This morning there is a headline with no post on Kriseman’s personal website: “Running for Mayor“.

Kriseman posted update on his website:

An opportunity like this doesn’t come along often, and as I’m always thinking of how best to serve my community, I simply couldn’t just rule it out. Also, because such a decision for me is personal, and not political, it hasn’t come easily or swiftly. After having given this decision the thought and attention it deserves, I now know this: I do not intend to run for mayor in 2009.

He “announced” the post on Facebook:

  1. Peter says:

I hate to say I told you so, but…

  2. Jim Johnson says:

Peter – I fully expected you were right. It was just an interesting tease this morning.

You have to like that he used his website and Facebook to make the announcement, rather than calling the Times.
